How do I wash and care for my brushes?

Japanese Fude makeup brushes are true treasures, and if looked after correctly, can last for many years. For instructions on washing and storage, we recommend following the instructions on our blog, which was developed in consultation with brush artisans.

DO YOU OFFER ENGRAVING?

We do not currently offer an engraving service.

ARE your PRODUCTS AUTHENTIC?

All brushes sold on our website are authentic Japanese Fude, handmade by artisans in Japan.

I have an issue with a product

Due to the handmade nature of Japanese Fude brushes, slight shedding or deviations in shape are not considered faults. We recommend washing the brush to return it to it's intended shape. Read more information on shedding and brush care.

MY BRUSH PACKAGE DOESN'T HAVE THE KUMANOFUDE STICKER

Although a large proportion of brushes are made in the Kumano region of Japan, in Hiroshima prefecture, not all brushes are made there—so these brands will not use the Kumanofude sticker. In addition to this, not all brands in Kumano are part of the Kumano association, due to the high costs of being a member. Regardless of whether your brush packages have the Kumanofude sticker or not, they are guaranteed to be authentic Japanese fude handmade by artisans in Japan.

Discounts

When do you have sales?

We generally don't do storewide sales. Instead, we try to keep our products competitively prices year-round, and have a Loyalty Program where customers can earn points for discounts. If it's your first purchase with us, if you sign up to our newsletter you'll receive a 10% OFF discount code.

I SIGNED UP TO YOUR NEWSLETTER BUT DIDN'T RECEIVE MY DISCOUNT CODE

If you signed up to our newsletter (thank you!!), but didn't receive your discount code, if may have gone to your spam folder. Please search your mail for the subject 'Thanks for signing up to the Fude Beauty Newsletter'. If you're still unable to locate it, please contact us.

My discount code isn't working

Some discount codes expire or have minimum purchase amounts, so please check the terms of your code. If you are still having trouble, please contact us with the details:

  • Your discount code
  • A screenshot of the cart you are trying to check out
  • A screenshot of the error message
How do I combine my discounts?

Discounts cannot be combined, unless they are Loyalty Program coupons you have claimed and wish to combine these. If that is the case, please contact us with the details.

I made a purchase but didn't use my discount code

We are not able to apply discounts retrospectively nor refund the difference.

If it was your first purchase with Fude Beauty, please contact us about the possibility to redeem the first purchase discount of 10% on a future offer.

Which Payment Methods Do You Accept?

Habitat accepts the following payment methods for online purchases:

• All major credit cards, as shown at checkout

• PayPal: if you do not have an account yet, you can create one while shopping with us

• Apple Pay, Google Pay

Please note that your billing address must match the address on your credit card statement.

WHICH SHIPPING CARRIER SHOULD I CHOOSE?

We currently ship to most destinations with EMS (Japan Post Express Mail Service), FedEx and DHL.

Please note:

  • DHL and FedEx do not ship to bases or PO Boxes
  • DHL is typically the fastest shipping option
  • DHL and FedEx may result in higher taxes and duties fees (you can find more on Taxes and Duties below)
  • Customers in Russia will need a business address to ship to, as required of DHL.
  • Free shipping (order of ¥40,000+) will be automatically shipped with FedEx. If you wish to use DHL, please choose DHL during checkout (for a discounted rate of ¥500).
  • FedEx is International Standard (no signature required). If you require a signature with FedEx, this will be ¥500 extra. Please contact us with your request.
CAN I EDIT MY ORDER?

Changes to your order may be possible depending on the type of change and timeframe.

Changes that are possible:

  • Adding products to your order, if the order has not yet shipped or is scheduled for shipping.
  • Changes to shipping addresses are possible if the order has not yet shipped or is scheduled for shipping.
  • Full and partial order cancellations can be made within 24 hours of placing your order. Please note, a 10% charge applies to cancellations.

Changes that are not possible:

  • Combining more than 2 orders after they are placed.
  • Combining two separate orders to save on shipping when both orders use discounts.
  • Changes to billing addresses.
  • The currency the order was placed in.
  • Full and partial order cancellations for orders outside of the 24 hour window. If you still wish to return your item, please see How to Return my Items.

Can I cancel my order?

Orders may be cancelled within 24 hours of the order being placed, unless the order has already shipped. Please note, all cancellations (full order, partial order, shipping fee) incur a processing fee of 10%.

If you receive your order wish to return it, this is possible as long as all brushes are unopened and in as-new condition. Customers will be responsible for covering the return fees and will receive a refund once the package has been received by Fude Beauty.

HOW LONG WILL MY ORDER TAKE TO SHIP?

After your order is confirmed, your order will ship within 5 business days, unless otherwise stated on the product page. Please check the list of Japanese public & Fude workshop holidays below, as these are not business days.

Occasionally, there are hold-ups in the warehouses due to demand, and in this case, we will notify you. If your order is more than 2 weeks delayed to ship, we will partially fulfill your order for the brushes available, and send the remaining once they are received at no extra cost to you.

How Can I Track My Order?

Once your order is shipped, you should receive a shipping confirmation with a link to track your order. You can track your order from this page.

Can I return my order?

If you would like to return your full or part, this is possible if you (1) Contact Fude Beauty within 1 month of receiving your order (2) The brushes will need to be in their new, unopened state.

Customers returning their orders will be required to cover the shipping costs and will receive a refund once the brushes are received by Fude Beauty.

WILL I BE CHARGED additional taxes & DUTIES/ VAT FEES?

You may be subject to import taxes and duties on delivery, depending on your country. The threshold of duties and taxes also varies between countries, so please see the government website for your country. While these fees are not reimbursed by Fude Beauty, we can provide a discount for future purchases if the taxes you incur on one purchase exceeds ¥3,000. For estimations in the taxes and duties you may be charged, you can use this calculator.

I THINK MY ORDER HAS BEEN lost or STOLEN

My order is incorrect

We're so sorry to hear that your order is not what you purchased! We are a small team of humans, and sometimes (rarely, but sometimes) these errors occur. Please contact us with the details and we will resolve this for you.

Loyalty Rewards Program

What is the Fude Beauty Rewards Program?

This is our way of showing our appreciation for shopping with us and engaging with our brand and products! You’ll earn points for activities on our site, like referrals and purchases. You can use them to earn discounts off purchases, so the more you collect the more you save.

WHO CAN JOIN?

Anyone! A loyalty account will be created for you as soon as you create a shop account, and you can start earning points right away. 

How do I earn points?

You can earn points for all sorts of activities, including referring friends, and making purchases. To see all the ways you can earn points visit the Rewards program page.

HOW DO I VIEW MY POINT BALANCE?

Your point balance is displayed on the launcher (bottom right-hand side of the screen) once your login, as well as on the Rewards program page.

HOW DO I REDEEM MY POINTS?

Select the tab called Redeem Points. Here you’ll see all the rewards we offer. If you have enough points, you can redeem them for a reward.

I received a Tier bonus discount, how can I use it?

Congratulations on entering a higher tier!

The discounts are:

  • Ume 梅: ¥2,000 OFF (Minimum order value ¥20,000)
  • Take 梅: ¥4,000 OFF (Minimum order value ¥40,000)
  • Matsu 梅: ¥5,000 OFF (Minimum order value ¥50,000)

Please note, these coupons expire within 3 months of receiving them.

IS THERE A LIMIT TO THE NUMBER OF POINTS I CAN EARN?

No. Go ahead and earn as many as you can!

DO POINTS EXPIRE?

Yes, points will expire after 1 year if they are not used.

Do Rewards Coupons expire?

Expiry dates depend on the coupon.

  • Regular discount coupons: Expire 1 year after claimed if they are not used.
  • Tier discount coupons: Expire 3 months after being rewarded.
  • Campaign coupons: Vary with campaigns, so please check the terms of each campaign.
IS THERE A MINIMUM PURCHASE to use discount coupons?

This depends on the reward. For a ¥500 voucher, there is a ¥5,000 minimum purchase; for a ¥1,000, the minimum purchase is ¥10,000; for a ¥2,000 voucher, the minimum purchase is ¥20,000; for a ¥3,000 voucher, the minimum purchase is ¥30,000. For a ¥4,000 voucher, the minimum purchase is ¥40,000. For a ¥5,000 voucher, the minimum purchase is ¥50,000.

I COMPLETED AN ACTIVITY BUT DIDN'T EARN POINTS!

It can sometimes take up to 24 hours for the system to process your activity and provide your points.

I redeemed a coupon but I would like to refund it into my points balance

HOW MANY REVIEWS CAN I RECEIVE POINTS FOR IN 1 week/MONTH?

You can receive 150 points per review, for a maximum of 4 reviews per month.

Please note, the purpose of reviews is to help other customers make informed decisions about products, and to help us improve our service. They should therefore specify at least one of (1) a feature of the product's design (2) how you use the product (3) your service experience with Fude Beauty. If they don't meet at least one of these criteria, your points may be retracted. 

CAN I USE MY POINTS DURING CHECKOUT?

Not directly - please redeem your points for a coupon which can then be applied during checkout.

HOW MANY DISCOUNTS CAN I USE PER PURCHASE?

Discounts are limited to one per checkout.

HOW DOES THE referral system of 'give ¥2,000, get ¥2,000' WORK?

Each customer has a unique referral code in their Rewards Program account. Once you sign in, open the Rewards Program launcher from the bottom right-hand side of your screen and scroll down to 'Referrals'.

If a customer uses your referral code for their purchase with Fude Beauty, they will receive a discount of ¥2,000 and you will receive a ¥2,000 discount coupon. This coupon will be accessible through your Rewards Program screen.

Please note, the customer's order must be minimum value of ¥20,000 to receive the discount and for you to receive the coupon. It is also only valid for customers' first purchase with Fude Beauty.

HOW DO I LEAVE THE PROGRAM?

If you no longer wish to earn points, please contact us and ask to be unenrolled. We'll unenroll you and you will lose any points you have accrued.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I LEAVE AND DECIDE TO JOIN AGAIN?

Just contact us and we'll re-enroll you. However, your point total will begin from zero.
