Koyudo Deka Fu-Pa01 Powder Brush, XL (NEW) - Fude Beauty, Japanese Makeup Brushes

This is a large-headed makeup brush called produced by the highly sophisticated hands of Koyudo artisans. A makeup brush with an unprecedented amount of hair that can be used for both powder and blush.

The dense bristles of this brush make it great for powder. Made from imitation Saikoho goat hair, with a touch that mimics natural hair and excellent durability. The brush is made in the same way as traditional Kumano brushes, by hand, and with uncut tips.

The handle is made of wood, and the color uses high-quality pearl green. This is the densest powder brush of all Koyudo brushes and it can be used for powder foundation or blusher. Moving the brush with a circular motion, it leaves skin with a natural-looking glow.

Fu-pa Series

Koyudo's Fu-pa Series is one of the brand's most popular, featuring densely packed bristles for optimum coverage, and short handles for greater control and portability. Handles are made from natural wood, finished in black with pearl-green shimmer. The new range, released in 2020, features 9 brushes for powder, liquid, and cheek-makeup application.

Too dense

It was a strong learning curve with this brush. The bristles are soft but they're also very densely packed. I have dry skin and in attempting to use this for powder foundation, I found that it deposited way too much powder and made my skin look so textured. Stamping it on the face feels a wee bit too harsh. It's not possible to buff with this brush because the bristles don't move. The best method I found was to do both a stamp and roll motion to apply powder well. It's not a bad brush, just that it's dense bristles make it a bit of a challenge to work with.
