This stunning new powder brush from Chikuhodo is made from 100% ash squirrel bristles, completed with a handle of plum blossoms in Yamanaka-Shikki lacquer work. Compared with some other premium Chikuhodo powder brushes, the bristles are a little shorter, which increases the density so you can enjoy a firm and smooth touch. Because the are very delicate, the brush is recommended for loose powders and lightly pressed powders.

Maki-e Series

Chikuhodo collaborated with prestigious lacquerware brand Yamanaka-Shikki to produce the stunning range of Maki-e brushes. The brush body is made with the traditional Japanese gold and silver lacquerware techniques. Lacquerware is traditional craft of Ishikawa prefecture, and Yamanaka-Shikki have been producing their premium-quality, certified Royal Warrant goods for around 450 years.

Not impressed with handle

This is no doubt a very well made brush with exquisite and soft bristles. My main complaint is that I expected more from the handle design. I thought that compared to some of my other dude brushes this looked and felt a little cheap given the price.

Exquisite

Fude Beauty ships from Japan by DHL quickly & tracked. The brush is so pretty. I feel spoiled using it - the design really adds to the pleasure of using it. It is soft and is wonderful to use for both loose & pressed. It also feels nice to buff after my bronzer and blush have been applied so I don’t have stripes. It softens the look. Great purchase. Looking forward to more. Pictures are this brush with the carp and z1

The perfect brush

This was my first Chikuhodo, which I bought as I was telling myself there was no way it was worth it. I stand corrected. The handle is gorgeous but this is so much more than a decorative powder brush. Yes, it applies powder beautifully, but it's also outstanding with pigmented blushes that are usually hard to control - this gives a perfectly diffused wash of color that doesn't need to be buffed out - and it does a beautiful soft contour with bronzer. The tip is curved from the front and beveled from the side, which gives great control. It doesn't fluff out too much after washing. It's really a perfect brush that will make you feel spoiled every time you use it. Try it, you won't be sorry!

it cannot be put into words

This Powder Brush not only looks beautiful, it is as soft as a dream. He applies the powder gently and easily. When I use it, it enchants my make-up experience. It inspires me to apply my make-up with the same dedication that the brush was made.

Soft and collectible

This brush is super soft and great for buffing or applying powder products. It definitely creates an airbrushed effect as the bristles are not so densely packed. I took off one star because I thought the handle art looked a bit cheap and not as luxurious as I had hoped for the price. It’s featured here in my photo as the leftmost brush.
