Long-time Fude brush lover, Japanophile, and ex-Japan resident, Laura Loukola, shares her thoughts on the recently released Koyudo Yoshiki Superior eye brushes:
"I really like the idea of mixing old Japanese calligraphy traditions with makeup brushes. For me, makeup brushes are artistic tools and not a mere necessity. Tanuki bristles feel very lovely to me. I was afraid they would feel too stiff or rough for my eyes (I’m very picky about softness), but that’s not the case! These naturally black bristles feel firm, strong yet uniquely soft on the skin."

"Yoshiki Superior brushes are densely packed and firm, excellent for product pick up and diffusing stubborn, hard-to-blend eyeshadow textures. Tanuki hair works for both powder and liquid/cream products. The pointed tips of Y-7 and Y-8 are ideal for precision, blending, detail, and drawing fine lines. I have hooded lids and I find that the point of Y-7 and Y-8 really gets in my crease, outer corner, etc., and gets the blending done."
