Released in autumn 2020, Koyudo's Kakishibuzome Series feature high-quality saikoho goat hair bristles dyed with persimmon, a traditional dyeing technique in Japan passed down since the Heian period (794 – 1185). Known as 'kakishibu', this method of dyeing imbues the bristles with a dusky hue as well as antibacterial properties. The handles are made from mizume-zakura (cherry wood), revered for its natural elegance and warmth. From Alicia: "Thank you to Fude Beauty for sending me the Koyudo Kakishibuzome set! One of the most beautifully, designed brushes I have ever encountered. We’re looking at 6 brushes: 3 face and 3 eyes. I think the set is balanced out, but you can take on several tasks with the multitaskers like the 03 + 04. In this video, we’ll go over individual brush details, you’ll see several demos with each brush."
